Anyone up for a trade?

This week was so chill, especially in comparison to the tightly packed week that was last. It was a breath of fresh air. Although it left me wondering how to fill up my time. I could get a jumpstart on the work for next week, but I couldn’t find sufficient motivation for that. What did I do then? Started rewatching an incredibly long show I’ve already watched twice over and spent the entirety of the paycheck I haven’t yet received on Prime Day deals. Most definitely not the best uses of my time, so I thought to myself, what does every avid crafter have way too much of? Unfinished projects. I figured it was about time I finished at least one.

This past Tuesday I went to an event with my friends that involved a trinket exchange. I needed a trinket to bring, and maybe unnecessarily decided I had to bring the best trinket, or at least one of the best. I pondered and remembered that over the summer I started making these mini lobsters in full Boston theme. It came about after multiple amtrak delays and learning how easy it is to crochet lobster arms. My issue, though, is that I absolutely detest having to sew together the many pieces of amigurumi. Thus, over the summer I made tons of lobster parts, but didn’t put any together to finish the keychains. This trinket exchange provided me the perfect reason to finally complete one.

What more is there to be said? I sewed some legs onto a lobster body and added a key ring. I went to the exchange and ended up with a lightbulb. Very successful trinket exchange if I do say so myself. Then afterwards I went home and started completing the rest of my outstanding mini lobsters. I have a whole aquarium now. Maybe I’ll see what more I can trade for them. A couple of my friends have already started making offers. I still have way too much of this red yarn. Maybe I’ll make even more lobsters that I won’t finish for several more months. Only time will tell.

It’ll be a short one today. Even with tons of time, there are still many things to fill that time. Lobsters were the thing for this week, I can only wonder what’s to come in the next. Till then!
